Cassiber - A Face We All Know

I like my rock and roll weird and interesting (and... shall I say, disconcerting?) and Cassiber delivers all that in spades. A source of inspiration for the likes of Yoshihide Otomo and his band Ground-Zero, it is German improvisational avant-garde rock that just does all sorts of really interesting songs unlike anything I've ever heard. Perhaps it is comparable to the likes of John Zorn type stuff (but they don't use sax in this album). Some of the sounds consist of German-accented vocals wailing and commanding through sound effects, all types of goofy organs, bass plucks, and awesome drumming. It crosses genres, moods, styles and expectations, in funny and unnerving ways. I'm doing you all a favor exposing you to this ingenious and innovative band, and I'll be sure to post their other albums shortly.

Zach Hill - Face Tat

Zach Hill is the drummer from Hella, and Face Tat is the coolest fucking album ever. It came out not too long ago, and I'm just blown away by both the technical mastery and the chaotic energy of it. Not only is Zach one of the best drummers around, but he's a fucking mad man and puts together some of the most energizing punk-noise chaos around. This album is like a cross between Boredoms, Black Lips, Hella, dirty synth music and amphetamines. There's a fierce energy pulsing through this whole thing and it's just a great listen. Just watch the video below, its from a song on the albummm. This guy's a fucking champ.

Estradasphere-Palace of Mirrors

Heavy hitting rock experimental rock. Definitely a cool album. With tracks that vary in style from jazzy big band to secret agent surf, from Eastern sounding folk weirdness to electronic madness. This one has something for every one. Estradasphere kind of sounds like the trans-siberian orchestra having a bad acid trip while exploring the adams family mansion.

Thrones-Sperm Whale

I've never heard sludge like this before. Joe Preston's(who has played in Sunn O))), Earth, and the melvins) project is a really original take on the Sludge/doom/drone genre. The usage of drum machines and synthesizers give the album an electronica feeling. This melds perfectly with the lumbering and powerful bass riffs and the sometimes insanely effects heavy vocals. This is a very fresh take on something that i thought couldn't of gotten any better. For fans of Harvey Milk, Sunn O))),Sleep, Etc.. This one is really worth a listen.

Nico-The Marble Index

The Marble Index's sounds like an off kilter nightmare. Orchestrated by a terrible and beautiful siren(nico). With drunken rhythms on harmonium backed by folk instruments from the dark and inner most grim areas of the human mind. Beautiful and off kilter folk weirdness.

Krzysztof Penderecki - Matrix 5

Yes, it's about damn time we post some of this guy's stuff. A visionary genius of 20th century classical composition, Penderecki experiments with the boundaries of what an orchestra can do. He terrifies and stuns millions. Listen to his Threnody for the Victims of Hiromshima. His orchestra wails like air-raid sirens throughout, and about two minutes into the song, the players start slapping and hitting their instruments. If you dig weirdness of this nature, you will thoroughly enjoy this man's work.

Paavoharju - Yhä Hämärää

An eerie and beautiful folk band of Finnish Ascetic-Christians. I've been diggin' on this album of theirs for about a week, and I'm itchin' to share. To help describe its weirdness, it'd be the product of Penguin Cafe Orchestra and Sigur Rós if they got together and ate a fair amount of Fly Agaric mushrooms while they recorded some cool Eastern music with various, multi-cultural string instruments, a GameBoy, and some of Fuck Buttons' mixers. Magical.

Brian Eno - Must Correspond in Pattern

If this album was an animal it would be a water buffalo stampeding, due to it's wild and driving rhythms and majorly majestic riffage. If you are a fan of instrumental music you will love this album.

Aphex Twin - Selected Ambient Works Volume II

Volume II differs significantly from the first volume in the series, in that it consists of lengthy, textured ambient compositions with minimal percussion and occasional vocal samples, in a vein similar to Brian Eno's ambient works. James described the album as being "like standing in a power station on acid"[2] and went on to note that the sounds on record were inspired by lucid dreams, and that upon awaking, he would attempt to re-create the sounds and record them. He claimed to have natural synaesthesia, which contributed to this album.[2]

Beautiful and oftentimes disturbing, this is a mindfuck on all accounts. Repititious, mentally exhausting and possibly trance-inducing. Definitely not your typical Aphex Twin. This shit has bad (or awesome) trip written all over it.

Kahil El'Zabar & David Murray - We Is, Live at The Bop Shop

Sweet jams that are part free-jazz, part blues part and part freaky-deaky. Kind of just has to be heard, I'm not even gonna try to explain how it all plays out here. But if you like jazz along with some mad percussions, pick it up pronto.

Consumer Electronics and Merzbow - Horn of the Goat

This one here is a wild one. Japanese noise legend Merzbow teams up with power electronics pioneer Philip best (Whitehouse). The constant changes in pitch and speed make you feel like your in a sapceship going down. The constant distortion paints a good background for this kind of madness.

Hit that shit chief

Lou Reed - Metal Machine Music

good ol' Lou Reed, he never ceases to amaze me. This one is unlike any of his other albums i've heard. The best way i can describe this is contemplative noise you listen to it and it just makes you think and reflect. This one is a feedback frenzy of hums, distortion and guitar sounds, it's great. check it out if you like noise or Lou Reed.

Whitehouse - Right To Kill

Fuckin wild noise album. These guys are credited to have started power electronics. Real dark heavy shit right here. The constant cracks and hums of electricity power this album's background while the muffled sounds of a man scream paints a dark foreground of sound and insanity.

Mystic Fugu Orchestra - Zohar

"From the inventive minds of John Zorn and Yamantaka Eye comes an intimate and highly original duo project inspired by historical recordings of ancient Judaica. The Mystic Fugu Orchestra masquerades as "newly discovered" recordings from the Mystical tradition of Kabbalah - paralleling 14th century author Moses de Leon's original presentation of of his Kabbalistic classic "The Zohar" or "Book of Splendors" as having been discovered by him and actually written by Rabbi Simeon ben Yohai centuries before. Humorous, touching, traditional, irreverent, perplexing, soulful. A sound that could only come about with years of friendship, empathy and collaboration, The Mystic Fugu Orchestra will surprise and delight you as yet another unusual direction in music from these two masters of the unexpected." Boards of Canada - The Campfire Headphase

Just to give you an idea, this is elevator music on acid. Really mellow and beautiful, but also groovy. It's just so easy to get lost in it. Really wonderful and distorted. It's just so cool. Whenever I listen to this for like five minutes, I'm thinking deeply about outer space and stuff. Just get it and float away with it.

Gang Gang Dance - God's Money

really good electronic dancey psych stuff HIGHLY RECOMMENDED
