Incapacitants - As Loud As Possible

Wikipedia says it best:

Incapacitants (インキャパシタンツ Inkyapashitantsu^?) are a Japanese noise music group formed in 1981. It consists of Toshiji Mikawa and Fumio Kosakai, whose stated aim is to produce "pure" noise, uninfluenced by musical ideas or even human intention, using primarily feedback, vocals, and various electronics. Kosakai calls this sound "hard noise", as a nod to hard bop.^[1]

The performances of Incapacitants--the physically incongruous combination of Hijo Kaidan member T. Mikawa and former C.C.C.C. member Fumio Kosakai--are so wide-open that they explode the usual image of noise music. The noise sound is completely integrated with the convulsive, leaping, swinging movement of the musicians' bodies--one big, the other small. This is conveyed to listeners in such a direct way that the question "What is noise?" becomes meaningless.

This is HARD noise! Some of the hardest shit I've listened to since Noise Ramones. An arresting goddamn experience that is obviously not for everyone. Here's a video of them playing in the woods of Tajima, Fukushima just to give you an idea of what they're all about. Classic 80's Japanese noise! never gets old for me.

Harry Pussy - What Was Music? A: In an Emergency...

Harry Pussy is comprised of this really insane married couple who make some of the most bizarre noise rock that is comparable to banging together garbage cans while people are trying to sleep. Sounds sort of like early Boredoms, except with more guitar and it makes you want to cry. Incredible. This is seriously what Sex Pistols should've sounded like if they wanted to not suck.

Forest Creature - Frustrated Analogue

I first heard about these guys when one of their songs (from this album) popped up on Pitchfork.com for a bit last year. I thought it was catchy, and hunted down a link for the one album they put out(turns out this link was actually released by the band). Each song is its own noise-drone piece, normally with some aggressive synthetic loops of sound and tones. This album is for fans of the band Fuck Buttons, and who are looking for the next level of that kind of madness. It's intermediate-level Fuck Buttonry; much more raw, simplistic and devoid of vocals. Highly worth a listen to anyone who likes to just zone out on some weird shit. Definitely not the easiest music to listen to, but is still kind of addicting. I've been listening to this album since last year, and still I find myself putting it on just to have a freak out of some sort. And it still does the trick.

Vladislav Delay - Multila

Often regarded as Sasu Ripatti (aka Vladislav Delay)'s best work. The sounds he makes are really unlike any noise or ambient I ever heard. The noises are deep, churning, organic, and dark as fuck: sounds that provoke the mind to imagine dead bodies slowly crawling out of the deepest oceans. Or maybe that's just me. Either way, Multila sounds like the artifact of some failed scientific attempt to record the vibrations of the Earth's crust on acetate vinyl. A must listen for those who have a taste for weird noises and burps on the digital whatever machine.

Kriegshog is aggressive as all hell, and noisy to boot, also they are from japan which is always a plus around here. This is some powerful shit. Musica Futurista: The Art of Noises-V/A

A nice collection of early noise and futurist music ranging from 1909-1930. The first half of the album is mainly piano. The piano is angry, lonesome, and unstable, creating an ominous insanity, followed by uncomfortable silences, leading into smooth piano melodies. But the real gems are the two Luigi Russolo recordings, risveglio di una citto and esempi sonori di. The horror movie screeches and howls overcast a gurgles from hell. This is a very cool pice of history and art and shit like that.

Its that time of year again when the leaves turn, the children dress up and ring my door bell all night asking for candy and i have to tell them i don't have any because I ended up getting to drunk eating it all and throwing it up in the backyard. Yes! Thats right it's a Halloween fun for all. What a better way to start The Hallo-weekend then with Nervous Norvus the 50's (god i hate to call him this but) "novelty rocker" . This is a collection of all of his singles(and possibly all of his recordings). Norvus wrote the majority of these songs as a demo service writing them so other people could preform them. But Enough pre-history lets get to the sound. This is an absolute must, must, must have for any fans of Brian Eno, Tim Hecker, Fennesz, Wolfgang Voigt and other noise/drone artists. This very well may be my pick for Best Album of 2010. The first track sounds like the creation of the Sun or something, definitely the coolest song I've heard in a long time. The rest of the album just makes you feel like you're gently sinking deeper and deeper into a K hole. Pretty crazy shit, man. Who needs drugs when you got this shit

Tim Hecker - Apondalifa

Super intense 7" of just crazy, beautiful Tim Hecker noise. It's only 9 minutes long, but it's soundscape is about as giant as the above picture. I'm tepted to call it a wall of noise, but I think it'd be more appropriate to call it a sky of noise, or something along those lines. Yeah. Krzysztof Penderecki - Matrix 5

Yes, it's about damn time we post some of this guy's stuff. A visionary genius of 20th century classical composition, Penderecki experiments with the boundaries of what an orchestra can do. He terrifies and stuns millions. Listen to his Threnody for the Victims of Hiromshima. His orchestra wails like air-raid sirens throughout, and about two minutes into the song, the players start slapping and hitting their instruments. If you dig weirdness of this nature, you will thoroughly enjoy this man's work.

G A S - Oktember

Another sweet mindfuck by Wolfgang Voigt's side project Gas. This is a two-song EP that will knock your socks off and so on. It's dark. It's scary. It's trippy as hell. It's like his later album Pop, except much more frightening and off-putting. Plus it's got more of a four-on-the-floor beat goin on. I really, really like these two songs. Get it.

Track 2's probably the best.

G A S - Pop

Gas is a project of Cologne, Germany-based electronic musician Wolfgang Voigt. Voigt cites his youthful LSD experiences in the Königsforst, a part of Germany's black forest^[1] situated near his hometown of Köln, as the inspiration behind the project^[2]. He has claimed that the intention of the project is to "bring the forest to the disco, or vice-versa"

The last, and possibly greatest, of the GAS albums, this one is the most removed from any dance/techno influence (although there are still a couple songs with a "four-on-the-floor" dance tempo). Just a wondrous beautiful album of "Free-Noise Nature" sounds that'll space you the fuck out. If you liked Tim Hecker, you'll dig GAS.

Consumer Electronics and Merzbow - Horn of the Goat

This one here is a wild one. Japanese noise legend Merzbow teams up with power electronics pioneer Philip best (Whitehouse). The constant changes in pitch and speed make you feel like your in a sapceship going down. The constant distortion paints a good background for this kind of madness.

Lou Reed - Metal Machine Music

good ol' Lou Reed, he never ceases to amaze me. This one is unlike any of his other albums i've heard. The best way i can describe this is contemplative noise you listen to it and it just makes you think and reflect. This one is a feedback frenzy of hums, distortion and guitar sounds, it's great. check it out if you like noise or Lou Reed.

That's Life

Tim Hecker - Harmony in Ultraviolet

Beautiful compositions done by digitally altered noises and melodies. Really, really trippy and beautiful textures of sound that just envelop you in this weird kind of atmosphere. That's as good of a description as I can muster. Even without drugs, you'll just space the fuck out when you listen to this.
